John has held the positions of Process Design Engineer and Assistant Production Manager with Dow Chemical Netherlands, Strategic Planning at African Oxygen and served as Managing Director of General Chemicals and Chemplast and is currently the CEO of Engineers for Africa.

Errol Berman

Errol Berman is an Electrical Engineer Pr. Eng. He has over forty years of experience in a variety of fields including:

Development in analogue electronics; Microprocessor systems design for train control systems; Key Account Management of large corporates including State Owned Enterprisers; Mentoring graduates and Facilities management for the state.

Current Activity: Developing courses in electrical engineering; energy usage and billing consulting; mentoring.

Nigel Coni

Nigel Coni studied chemical engineering at the University of Natal.  He has over 40 years of experience in the chemical industry, in design, project, production and consulting positions.  For the last 13 years he and two colleagues have run a process safety engineering consultancy which specializes in process safety risk assessments, haz-op studies and environmental impact assessments of projects in the chemical processing industry.

Geoff Dougall

Geoff Dougall is a Professional Technologist with forty years engineering experience in the specialist area of pressure vessels & tankage.  This experience has been mainly acquired working with Fluor Daniel on major petro-chemical projects undertaken in Africa over a period of 25 years.

Operating as an independent design consultant over the past 10 years, design services have been offered to vessel and tank fabricators as well as inspection authorities to ensure compliance with the Pressure Vessel Regulations, and Codes of Construction (ASME VIII Div 1, PD5500, API620/560 & EN14015 etc.)

James Fox

James Fox is an engineer with a unique combination of skills. Academically he holds bachelor’s and doctoral qualifications in chemical engineering. He has lectured final-year process design modules at Wits and UNISA and has published works in the field of process design and optimization.

Commercially, James has worked on numerous projects where he has been involved in everything from design to P&ID and commissioning. He is also a registered professional engineer, a rare feat for an academic.

Makgana Modiba

Makgana Modiba is a Chemical Engineer Pr. Tech. Eng. with a diploma in Management and Leadership obtained from Engineering Institute of Technology (Australia). Has experience in Power industry in commissioning of coal- fired and nuclear power plants both locally and abroad.

Makgana is currently a Resident Engineer at Kusile PowerStation, South Africa where his main role is overseeing the Environmental Control System technology that desulphurizes flue gas produced from burning of coal before it is released into the environment.

Mike Morrison

Mike Morrison holds a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, a Higher National Diploma in Quality Assurance and has served as a Certificated Quality Engineer with the American Society for Quality.

He has a wide experience in statistical analysis, quality costing, process design and change control, design of experiments and ergonomics. He has also develop training courses in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, statistical process control for shop floor staff, an advanced course for management in setting up and interoperating statistical Process Control and problem solving techniques.

Raymond Tshotheli

Raymond Tshotheli holds a Bachelor of Administration Degree in Economics and Management Sciences and a Intermediate Degree Qualification in Public Administration & Development from UNISA.

Ray has extended experience in Quality Assurance practices and has held senior management and advisory positions in the plastics industry and power generation. He is currently a Senior Quality Advisor at Eskom.

Philip Green is a Qualified Paint Chemist and has had 35 years of experience in the world-wide paint industry working in 48 Countries, 21 of them in Africa. For the last 18 years he has been an Independent Paint Consultant, who has published in excess of 50 papers and presented both locally and at international paint conferences.
